Capturing the Fierce Essence of Dommes: A Photoshoot with The Taillor Group

Ever since I started my journey as a photographer, capturing provocative and empowering imagery, I've been drawn to subjects who emanate strength, confidence, and an aura that demands attention. So when the opportunity arose to photograph the legendary Dommes of The Taillor Group, a collective of powerful queer intersectional feminists advocating for sex workers' rights, I knew it would be an electrifying experience.

The shoot began with Charlotte, the "Queen" and founder of The Taillor Group. As a fierce intersectional feminist and activist, Charlotte exudes an energy that is both regal and defiant. We started with simple yet provocative portraits that allowed her natural dominance to shine through. Her gaze was intense, almost challenging the viewer, while her posture and styling communicated authority and control.

Next up was Red, an intimidatingly tall figure whose mere presence commanded respect and perhaps a hint of fear—exactly the intended effect. Capturing Red's dominant essence required playing with contrasting light and shadow to accentuate her imposing silhouette and the sharp angles of her meticulously crafted outfits. The images evoked a sentiment of "Don't mess with me" that felt delightfully intoxicating.
